In executing our many goals, we have been far from alone in the process.
Below is more information on partnerships and sponsors that have assisted and guided us along the way. We couldn’t be more grateful for their support and continued commitment to our expedition. Reach out at edgeoftheatlantic04@gmail.com if you are interested.

As work for our expedition continues, we only hope this list will flourish …
Camping & Education Foundation
As our primary partnership, CEF has generously supported us through funding, community, and invaluable insights! Named for one of Kooch-i-ching’s finest expeditions leaders, the Dexter Davison Advanced Wilderness Tripping Endowment supports the rising leadership staff at CEF, aiming to further the Foundation’s educational mission through extended exploration with a clear and deserving purpose.

LNelsonDesign LLC

As a private design consultant, Lindsay works to bring her creative persona to live by fostering mission-driven partnership. She volunteered her time and effort in order to coordinate this project -Thank you for the excellent work, Lindsay! Read more about her extensive projects here.

Roads Rivers & Trails (RRT)
EoA is thrilled to partner with outdoor outfitter, RRT. Located off the Little Miami River in Cincinnati, they are family owned, with a commitment to community and environmental stewardship that aligns with our own mission goals. We are grateful for the industry connections and high-quality gear they are providing our trip. Shop small, support local!

Bending Branches
Personifying midwest integrity, Bending Branches manufactures quality canoe and kayak paddles. Countless hours spent designing and perfecting these paddles translate to an elevated experience – which we will put to the test since they are providing six beautifully-crafted paddles. We couldn’t be more excited to work with this local Northwestern Wisconsin company, operated by paddling enthusiasts. Mission-driven operations!

Northwest River Supplies (NRS)
In coordination with RRT, we were put in contact with NRS: an 100% employee owned business committed to continuing the legacy of founder Bill Parks, who sought to form a brand helping those who “run the river.” Starting with his $2,000 savings, he stocked an inventory of boating gear in his garage and typed out an NRS catalog. NRS will be providing tons of key gear for our expedition, such as PFDs, dry bags, map cases, and so much more. We’re stoked to partner with a brand that was built from the ground-up, that focuses on product sustainability and impact.

Belay Bling Earrings
Not only is she long-time Ogichi camper, staff, wilderness photographer, and dear friend of our crew – she also makes earrings! Alice Petty founded Belay Bling as a means of giving up-cycled, once weight-bearing climbing rope a second life. Each piece has lived a life of sun, grit, and rock — now reworked by hand in Bozeman, Montana. Imperfect, playful, and full of soul, each pair carries stories with them. Thank you, Alice, for your support and contribution- we can’t wait to each rep your earrings every mile of the journey!

Jacks Plastic Welding, Inc. (JPW)
We are proud to partner with Jack’s Plastic Welding Inc., a small, respected manufacturer based in Aztec, New Mexico that designs and builds durable expedition equipment. Founded in 1982, JPW specializes in thermoplastic welded products used by river outfitters, scientists, and explorers around the world. Their work spans far beyond recreation, reflecting a deep culture of innovation. Rooted in the canyon country and river systems of the American Southwest, JPW designs gear to withstand the same rugged environments that inspire it. We are grateful to carry equipment built by a company that shares our passion for wild places and practical, resilient design.

Recreational Barrel Works (RBW)
For years we’ve used gear from Recreational Barrel Works while leading canoe trips across Ontario and Manitoba, and we’re excited to now take it to Newfoundland and Québec with RBW as an official partner. Based in Peterborough, Ontario, this family-owned company is built around a lifelong passion for canoe tripping and the paddling community. They’ve equipped our team with their durable canoe packs, harness systems, and waterproof barrels, all of which is gear trusted by paddlers to protect supplies through long days on the water and rugged portages. Their craftsmanship and support give us added confidence as we prepare for the journey.

Unbridled Media
We’re grateful for the support of Unbridled Media, a creative video production team dedicated to turning powerful stories into compelling visual content. Through Kooch-i-ching alum Mike Walsh, their team generously offered to support our expedition by providing GoPro cameras and sharing guidance on filming and production in the field. With expertise spanning concept development, filming, and post-production, Unbridled Media helps bring stories to life in ways that resonate and inspire audiences. Their mentorship and equipment will help our team document the journey to Ungava Bay and share the experience with the broader paddling community.

In creating our logo, Madeline Heinle worked to craft design in representation of the group – vibrant, uncluttered, and charged with energy for 35 days on the water.
Support the Expedition
This expedition is a call to adventure, but also a call to action. Together, we can celebrate the legacy of wilderness travel, support women’s leadership, and protect the lands and waters we love.
